Leonard awarded the DFC and promoted to Group Captain

Created by Leonard Cheshire 6 years agoBy April 1943 Leonard had completed 60 operations. He had been awarded the DFC and a bar to his DSO and he was promoted to Group Captain – at 25 the youngest officer of that rank in the RAF – and given command of a bomber training base.
