Bee Hong 22nd August 2017

When Leonard Cheshire visited Singapore in 1988, I was a volunteer editor for the Far Eastern Regional Council's magazine for the Cheshire Home in Singapore and the Asia Pacific region. I sat in the Singapore Cheshire Home's lounge with him on the same sofa. At that time, I was only 25 years old. As we chatted, I found him cunningly witty! His young aid-de-camp could only smile while I was trying to keep up with his charm and his crafty intelligence! I gave him my business card and he kept it in his pocket. I was told by my boss, another volunteer by the name of Brother Kevin Doheny, that it was a fantastic and successful meeting with our beloved Leonard Cheshire! By the way, if you manage to find my business card among his things, it has the name, Ng Bee Hong! Many happy greetings to both of you for having such a great father!
